<P>
<P>/etc/conf.linuxconf is an ASCII file. Each line contains one configuration
record. The format is trivial.

<BLOCKQUOTE><CODE>

        system.feature value ...
        
</PRE>
</CODE></BLOCKQUOTE>

<DL>
<DT><B>system</B><DD><P>It is generally the name of a service. 
<P>
<DT><B>feature</B><DD><P>This represents  configuration information used
by the service.
<P>
<DT><B>value</B><DD><P>This is a string containing anything: words,
numbers, etc.

<P>Here is an example:

<P>This line tells the system that the 
<BLOCKQUOTE><CODE>
routed
</CODE></BLOCKQUOTE>
 daemon must export
its default route. The machine becomes a gateway.
