Linuxconf scope configuration
_L_i_n_u_x_c_o_n_f manages most daemons and system commands on your computer.
Some users may have a special way to handle one service that is beyond
the understanding or current capabilities of _L_i_n_u_x_c_o_n_f. In this case,
you can restrict _L_i_n_u_x_c_o_n_f so it doesn't interfere with their manage-
ment of that service.
11.. TTaasskkss
A screen presents you with all the commands and daemons _L_i_n_u_x_c_o_n_f can
manage. Just toggle the X flag in front of a command and _L_i_n_u_x_c_o_n_f
will, henceforth, completely ignore this service.
22.. OOtthheerr uussaaggee
This screen may be useful to disable a service temporarily. For
example, you configured the named daemon (DNS) and, for some reason,
you don't want to start it anymore. Instead of erasing the
/etc/named.boot file or renaming it (its presence does trigger
_L_i_n_u_x_c_o_n_f to start /usr/sbin/named), you just go here and disable
named.
This is easy and it provides a single place to activate/disable most
system services.
