Filter control
On Linux systems, user accounts are often numerous. Browsing a single
list is often cumbersome. Using the HTML interface on a slow link is
even worse. The filter control screen allows you to limit the list.
Note that you can modify the trigger for the filter on the Con-
trol/Features screen.
11.. EEnntteerr nnootthhiinngg aanndd aacccceepptt
Doing so will provide the full list of accounts.
22.. LLiisstt ooff sseelleeccttiioonn ffiieellddss
This dialog lets you prepare a filter working on several keys of the
user accounts. The keys are:
22..11.. LLooggiinn pprreeffiixx
This will only show accounts that start with this prefix. If you put
an asterisk (*) in front, it will locate all the login IDs which
contain that string (minus the *).
22..22.. FFuullll nnaammee pprreeffiixx
This will only show accounts with a full name starting with this
prefix. If you put an asterisk (*) in front, it will locate all the
full names which contain that string (minus the *).
22..33.. UUIIDD FFrroomm
You can specify the starting range for the user ID.
22..44.. UUIIDD TToo
You can specify the ending range for the user ID.
22..55.. GGrroouupp
You can extract the user accounts for a specific group only. The
default is to show all groups. This field is only available for shell
accounts. For special accounts (POP, PPP), the group is already
selected.
33.. TThhee AAdddd bbuuttttoonn
Using this button allows you to add a new account without seeing the
list of users first.
