This is a partly support for japanese.
I tested
sgml2html -l ja -c nippon xxxx.sgml
and
sgml2txt -l ja -c nippon xxxx.sgml
or
sgml2txt -f -l ja -c nippon xxxx.sgml.


This version works with
groff version 1.10 (jversion 0.99)
jperl5.004_04-971016
nkf (Network Kanji Filter Version 1.5)
