Questo capitolo descrive tutte le funzioni di libreria ad esclusione
delle funzioni di libreria descritte nel capitolo 2, le quali
implementano le chiamate al sistema. Ci sono vari gruppi di funzioni
che possono essere identificati da una lettera che segue il numero del
capitolo:
.IP (3C)
Queste funzioni, le funzioni del capitolo 2 e del capitolo 3S sono
contenute nella libreria C standard libc, che sar usata di default da
.BR cc (1).
.IP (3S)
Queste funzioni sono parte della libreria
.BR stdio (3S).
Sono contenute nella libreria C standard libc.
.IP (3M)
Queste funzioni sono contenute nella libreria aritmetica libm. Sono
usate di default dal compilatore FORTRAN
.BR f77 (1),
ma non dal compilatore C
.BR cc (1),
che ha bisogno dell'opzione \fI\-lm\fP.
.IP (3F)
Queste funzioni sono parte della libreria FORTRAN libF77. Il
compilatore non ha bisogno di particolari flag per usarle.
.IP (3X)
Varie librerie speciali. Le pagine di manuale che documentano queste
funzioni specificano i nomi delle librerie.
