retorna um valor equivalente a `exp (\fIx\fP) - 1'. O clculo  feito de
forma que o resultado seja preciso at mesmo se o valor de \fIx\fP for quase
zero--um caso onde `exp (\fIx\fP) - 1' seria impreciso devido  subtrao de
dois nmeros quase iguais.

retorna um valor equivalente a `log (1 + \fIx\fP)'. O clculo  feito de
forma que o resultado seja preciso at mesmo se o valor de \fIx\fP for quase
zero.
