PostScript version of the MH book
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The book is available in PostScipt format from
 ftp://ftp.gw.com/pub/people/jpeek/mh/book-ps/
Should you want to generate a postscript version of the book yourself (and
avoid downloading from the above site), you will first need to install the
Debian package html2ps.
You should then invoke:
$ sh make-postscript-mh-book
That script creates PostScript files in /tmp/mh-book-ps, one per chapter.
On a Celeron-300a, the task required 9 minutes and generated 34 MB of files.
Alternatively, you may use
$ sh make-postscript-mh-book-compressed
That script creates gzip commpressed PostScript files in /tmp/mh-book-ps,
one per chapter.  On a Celeron-300a, the task required 10.6 minutes and
generated 2 MB of files.  The PostScript previewer gv is quite capable of
viewing these files without decompressing them.
The above scripts are modified versions of Jerry Peek's own script:
  ftp://ftp.gw.com/pub/people/jpeek/mh/book-ps/make-book-ps
In the scripts, I have removed the first line to invoke the shell:
#!/bin/sh
because Debian packaging policy discourages having executable scripts
outside of the PATH or of /usr/share/doc/PACKAGE/examples/.  That's why the
scripts aren't executable and that you must invoke them with `sh' first.
