Comment: htpasswd* are mostly NCSA licensed.
RobMcCool's copyright was established by examining original NCSA httpd
source code mirrored here:
https://github.com/TooDumbForAName/ncsa-httpd/
This git repository is a copy of NCSA HTTPd source code releases.
Each release is organized in-tree by tag.
Note that some releases such as all of 1.5* are the export variants
of the software, excluding features such as PEM/PGP authentication,
pursuing compliance with U.S. State Department and NSA export rules
of the period.
The repository copy was verified to be accurate by comparing with a
WaybackMachine capture of the original NCSA ftp archive found here:
https://web.archive.org/web/20160619204223/ftp://ftp.ncsa.uiuc.edu/Web/httpd/Unix/ncsa_httpd/current/httpd_1.5.2a-export_source.tar.Z
NCSA HTTPd 1.5 matches mini-httpd's htpasswd*.
Portions of htpasswd* were edited by Jef Poskanzer, thus these files
remain under BSD-2-clause.
In mini-httpd, these files are effectively dual licensed.
The licensed granted by the NCSA follows:
.
