This file lists the most important changes to
the previous released version. For a full list of changes
please refer to the ChangeLog file.

New for version 2.10:
 - Add third locking method if file-based lock does not work.
   https://salsa.debian.org/minicom-team/minicom/-/issues/9
 - Make colors enabled the default.
 - ESC-] (OSC) sequences are recognized and discarded.
 - Code cleanups.
 - Updates translations: nb

New for version 2.9:
 - Change Hardware Flow Control Default to No.
 - Timestamping mode is now saved and restored.
 - Split "Screen and Keyboard" menu into two menus.
 - Update to gettext-0.21.
 - Change return values of --help and --version to success.
 - Support higher baud rates on MacOS
 - Save character send delay to config file
 - Save newline send delay to config file

  BEFORE release, give translation team approx. 2 weeks to update
  translations (mail to coordinator@translationproject.org with
  pointer to minicom-x.y-rc.tar.gz).

New for version 2.8:
 - Moved project to https://salsa.debian.org/minicom-team/minicom
 - New timestamp mode: Delta to previous line.
 - Add HPA ESC sequence
 - Add alternative window support (ti/te)
 - Fix file name of non-global configuration settings.

New for version 2.6.2:
 - Alternative hex output (to be improved)
 - Print creation date of serial device file (if < 20 hrs), useful for
   identifying just plugged in USB-Serial adapters 
 - Support ':' (colon) in device path names. Note, that this changes old
   behaviour which used ':' as a device path delimiter.
 - Several language updates.

New for version 2.6:
 - Add possibility to add delay after every character transmission.
 - Fix build issues on Mac OS X.
 - Stop providing default modem init and reset strings (still available when
   editing).
 - Added possibility for timestamps in output, added by minicom
 - Added lockdev support.
 - Added new dialdir format that is supposed to be interoperable between 32
   and 64 bits archs.

New for version 2.5:
 - Handle device reconnected more smoothly (USB-serial dongles)
 - Translation updates: Danish
 - Several fixes (see ChangeLog)

New for version 2.4:
 - Add -D and -b options to specify device and baud rate on the command
   line.
 - Do character conversion between local and remote side (-R option)
