Existuj portovan/pkgsrc/fink/atd verze
<span class="application">MPlayer</span>u, kter lze pravděpodobně snadněji použt,
než naše surov zdrojov kdy.
</p><p>
K sestaven <span class="application">MPlayer</span>u budete potřebovat GNU make
(gmake - nativn BSD make nebude pracovat) a současnou verzi binutils.
</p><p>
Pokud si <span class="application">MPlayer</span> stěžuje, že nemůže najt
<tt class="filename">/dev/cdrom</tt> nebo <tt class="filename">/dev/dvd</tt>,
vytvořte přslušn symbolick link:
</p><pre class="screen">ln -s /dev/<em class="replaceable"><code>vaše_cdrom_zařzen</code></em> /dev/cdrom</pre><p>

Chcete-li použvat Win32 DLL v <span class="application">MPlayer</span>u, budete muset
rekompilovat jdro s volbou "<code class="envar">USER_LDT</code>"
(pokud nepoužvte FreeBSD-CURRENT, kde je to vchoz).

Pokud vš procesor m SSE, rekompilujte jdro s volbami
"<code class="envar">CPU_ENABLE_SSE</code>" (vyžaduje FreeBSD-STABLE nebo patche
do jdra).

Vzhledem k omezenm v různch verzch gas (GNU assembleru – pozn. překl.)
(relokace vs MMX), budete muset kompilovat ve dvou krocch:
Nejprve se ujistěte že je nenativn as jako prvn ve vaš <code class="envar">$PATH</code>
a proveďte <span><strong class="command">gmake -k</strong></span>, pak zajistěte, aby se použila nativn
verze a proveďte <span><strong class="command">gmake</strong></span>.

Od OpenBSD 3.4 nen již vše uveden metoda potřeba.
