The original source implements only 'Basic' authentication
in a functional manner. In the present package this has been
amended insofar as letting each call that would need to apply
a 'Digest' authentication, return instead with a return code 1,
a message 'System Error', and a complimentary notice to stderr
stating that digests are not supported.
It is believed that 'Basic' is fully functional. At least
to the knowledge of my testing!
