netselect:
----------

* implement an alternate strategy for testing out hosts that uses both ICMP and
UDP and averages those results (and intelligent discards one of them if it
  does not work).

This way users do not have to manually select ICMP (-I) or UDP traceroute
  (default).

This change should also introduce the -U option (for UDP traceroute)

* implement averaging strategy for hosts with many DNS names.
The averaging strategy could collect the results for all DNS
names and discard those with too widely differing ratings
Then, report the best-run most reliable service with its full DNS
  name, not its IP address.

* fully implement IPv6 support. Currently, if there are IPv6 and IPv4 addresses
only the IPv4 addresses are used. (Bug #407767)

netselect-apt:
--------------

* parse http://www.de.debian.org/dmc/today/ instead of mirrors_full as it might
  give better informations?

* when netselect provides an IP address the resulting sources.list is not valid
as many mirrors cannot be accessed through http with only the IP address
(and no hostname). This needs to be fixed by using the tag: feature
  in netselect

* Support multiple hosts in the output and provide output for apt-cache
or other similar tools. See #286033

* Extend it to be useful for other protocols (rsync, ftp..). See #135558

* Make it possible to show a given number of hosts (not just one). See 117265

package:
-------

* move to salsa (git)
