Thanks for the kind words.  It's actually innd/inews rejecting the
message, not mail2news.

According to 822, the (1) is a comment.  According to accepted practice
(if not the actual wording) of RFC 1036, comments are not generally allowed
to exist in all places in news headers.

This is not valid -- someone is mixing up 822 email address and
comments with message-id formats.

Be polite, but tell your SA s/he is wrong. :)

It's technically a misfeature, and one of the reasons why it's still in
beta and not formaly released.  What should happen is that the ARTidok
routine in inn should be made a subroutine in newsgate.  If it fails,
then newsgate should probably generate its own header.

On the other hand, for now you can find the place where mail2news turns
tabs into something else and do the same for " and () .
