<h2>Description</h2>
<p>The '<nobr>char-downcase</nobr>' function converts the 'char' expression
to lower case. The lower case equivalent of 'char' is returned. <nobr>If
'char'</nobr> is not alphabetic <nobr>[a-z or A-Z],</nobr> then the
character is returned unchanged.</p>
