is automatically invoked as the back\-end by the Open MPI wrapper
commands such as: \fBmpicc\fP, \fBmpicxx\fP, and \fBmpifort\fP
(and its legacy/deprecated aliases \fBmpif77\fP and \fBmpif90\fP).
