<p> <code class="function">SPI_getvalue</code> returns the string representation
of the value of the specified column.
</p>
<p> The result is returned in memory allocated using
<code class="function">palloc</code>. (You can use
<code class="function">pfree</code> to release the memory when you don't
need it anymore.)
