php-idn for Debian GNU/Linux

To enable the IDN, perform the following steps:

   1. Edit '/etc/php5/conf.d/idn.ini' file removing '#' from
      '#extension=idn.so' and save file.

   2. Restart your webserver.
   
   3. Write a PHP page that calls "phpinfo();" Load it in a browser and
      look for the info on the IDN module. If you see it, you have been
      successful!
