Pingpong has a free license and I wrote it a long time ago to end the
messy situation we are in now, with multiple version derived from the
wampes conversd, all with a 'free for non-commercial use' license.

But...... Pingpong is far from ready. Version 0.02 allows you to login,
logout and chat with other users. It does not link with other servers
and has a very small command set. But it's a start.

Pingpong is written from scratch. No source was taken from the available
convers servers. I wrote it by logging into a server, see how it would
respond and implement this in pingpong. Pingpong uses the glib library,
which is available with all major linux distributions.

Pingpong is distributed under the GNU GENERAL PUBLIC LICENSE (GPL).
Parts of pingpong were taken from ttchat, which contained a small chat
server called ttserver. Ttchat is distributed by Christian Moreau
<cjmoreau@club-internet.fr> under the GPL. I would like to thank him for
giving me some ideas. I have used ttserver as a basis to get started
with pingpong.
