Version 0.93beta3
-----------------
- added new parameter -S (--Scanner) to specify Primax Colorado D300 / D600
- changed version numbering so have "standard" version numbers
(old: 0.93-BETA2 new: 0.93beta3)
- .spec file should work without modifications now (had problems with our
old version numbering scheme)
Version 0.93 [BETA2]
--------------------
This is the second public Beta. We've just added autoconf and
automake in order to build a makefile for the system the
program is to be built on.
Thanks to Robert Young for doing this work.
Version 0.93 [BETA1]
--------------------
primax_scan-0.93 is a beta-version for a driver to the Colorado Direct
300 alias N@twork MM100 scanner.
It's only testet on my system so there is no warranty!
The changes to the privious version 0.92 are:
- DEBUG option corrected
- gamma-bug removed
- command line options changed
- scanner goes offline after each scan
known bugs:
-lightgray is shown as a other light color (for example light yellow). This is
because the calibration refers to a lightgray under the top-scale of the
scanner. This lightgray is set as white. You can correct this color-error with
GIMP (Image->Colors->Levels; red, green, blue -tuning) if necessary.
-The driver only works with EPP enabled (ECP with EPP enabled is valid, too)
TODO
-balancing the colors
-SPP-support
-tidy up the code
Version 0.92
------------
primax_scan-0.92 is an early alpha-version for a driver to the Colorado Direct
300 alias N@twork MM100 scanner.
It's only testet on my system so there is no warranty!
The advantages to the privious version 0.91 are:
-parsing of the scann-array is corrected
-speed is now selectable
-grey, one color and black-white scanns are now possible
-more modules of code ( more easy to read)
-The driver only works with EPP enabled (ECP with EPP enabled is valid, too)
-parsing of gamma, contrast and brigthness isn't right, yet.
TODO
-balancing the colors
-correction of the parsing of gamma, contrast and brightness
-SPP-support
-tidy up the code

Version 0.91
------------
primax_scan-0.91 is an early alpha-version for a driver to the Colorado Direct
300 alias N@twork MM100 scanner.
It's only testet on my system so there is no warranty!
The advantages to the privious version 0.2 are:
-black-value tuning is realized
-all dots of the same color are at the same brightness whether they are in the
middle or at the end of a line. (calibration)
-the algorithm for the resolution was improved
-scan array is now 8.5'' x 11.6''
-The calibration isn't finished yet so that there could be an error-message.
If you get this error DO NOT report to the author!
-The driver only works with EPP enabled (ECP with EPP enabled is valid, too)
TODO
-balancing the colors
-finishing the VGA-calibration
-improve the speed
-SPP-support
-tidy up the code

Version 0.2
-----------
Author:
Marco Foglia <Marco.Foglia@switzerland.org>
The first alpha driver for the Primax Colorado Direct parallel port scanner is
out. The current driver is based on traces from the win driver because there
is stil no help from Primax.
Features: - resolution up to 300 dpi
- position and size of area
- contrast, brightness and gamma
- autodetect epp port
- RGB
not yet: - autocalibration
- faster speed
- sane backend
- ...
Problems: - timing of parallel port
- calibration (my linux scans are all much too green)
- large scanarea
How to compile:
You need libtiff to compile the program. To build primax_scan
just type 'make'. You get all options by './primax_scan --help'.
