27-Nov-1997 Docs for propsel Amit Margalit

Actually this is the main doc. No quickstart is available because it's so
small that anything is a quick start...

INTRO
-----

Hi there!

I have at work two X11 displays on my desk. Actually 3. The one thing I'd
been needing most, so many times, is the ability to select a URL on one
display and then paste it into the browser in the other display. This is
just what propsel does.

LEGAL
-----

#include <Legal/std_disclaim.h>

It's GPL'ed.

COMPILATION
-----------

Try 'make' should be OK on all systems. It's so much an Xlib proggy that I
think it will compile anywhere. You will need the XPM library installed.
After that type 'propsel' by itself for instructions.

USAGE
-----

In short, propsel opens the local display (given by the DISPLAY env. var.)
and other displays given on the command line with the -r / -remote command
line switch. There is a #define in the source that determines the maximum
number of displays it can handle.

After the displays are opened, a small window will open, and a pixmap saying
"Click to Propagate" will appear (blue pixmap). Select some text in any
window you like, and click in the little window. The windows in all other
displays will change to a red pixmap saying "Selected". You can now paste
the selection in the other displays too.

HELP
----

If you need help email me at 'propsel@hishome.net'. I'll do my best.

	Amit.
