Welcome to psk31lx.
psk31lx is free software. Please see the file COPYING for details.
For documentation, please see the files in the doc subdirectory.
For building and installation instructions please see the INSTALL file.
A default psk31lx.ini file will be installed by "make install" so the
program can find some defaults values. To override these values with
your own values, copy the psk31lx.ini file in the src directory to your
home directory and rename it .psk31lx.ini
The .psk31lx.ini file in your home will override the default psk31lx.ini
file. If neither of the above file are found, it will look for one in
the current directory. This allows you to test the program from the
src directory befor installing it.
The command line arguments will override the coresponding entries in the
psk31lx.ini files.
Usage: psk31lx [-a audiodevice] [-t pttdevice] [-q [-l]] [-t] [-x] [-h]
-a audio device - Specify the sound card. Default is /dev/dsp.
For the second sound card use -a /dev/dsp1
-t serial device - Specify the PTT device. Default is /dev/ttyS1.
For the first serial device use -t /dev/ttyS0
-v print version number
-q: Enable QPSK mode
-l: Invert phase shift for LSB mode
-x: TX freq follows RX freq
-h: print help message
Control Keys:
Ctrl A - toggle afc
Ctrl L - toggle LSB<>USB
Ctrl R - rx mode
Ctrl T - tx mode
Ctrl U - tune mode
Ctrl K - toggle NET
Ctrl W - CW ID
Ctrl X - clear text windows
ESC - exit
Up Arror - increment rx freq + 1 Hz
Down Arrow - decrement rx freq - 1 Hz
Right Arrow - increase rx freq by + 8 Hz
Left Arrow - decrement rx freq by + 8 Hz
Tuning:
A signal will appear as a column of dots in the spectrum display.
The stronger the signal, the taller the column will be. Tune your
rig until a signal is centered on the spectrum. The phase scope
should now be showing the 180 degree phase shift of a BPSK signal.
The O in the phase scope should be shifting between the 12 o'clock
and 6 o'clock position.
Depending on the tuning rate of your rig, it may be difficult to
tune a signal to the exact center of the spectrum display. If this
is the case, tune it as close as you can, and then use the arrow keys
to fine tune. The Up and Down arrow keys will change the rx frequency
by 1 Hz. The Right and Left arrow keys will change the rxfrequency
by 8 Hz. Using the arrow keys will allow you tune it closer.
When you get it tuned to within about 8 Hz, the AFC will take over and
do the rest.
