Persistent CGI for Debian GNU/Linux
-----------------------------------
This is PCGI, packaged for Debian GNU/Linux.
PCGI is an CGI wrapper that helps to implement long-running Python
processes. The natural use for PCGI are Bobo applications.
The accompying tools killpcgi, pcgifile and parseinfo have been modified
to fit in Debian's setup. The example included in upstream, pcgitest, has
been setup to work out of the box with Debian's web servers such as
Apache: Try http://YOURHOST/cgi-bin/pcgitest/getTime. To stop the process,
use "killpcgi /usr/lib/cgi-bin/pcgitest" (you'll have to be wwwrun or root).
You can use /usr/lib/cgi-bin/pcgitest as template for your own application
info files.
pcgifile and pcgi-parseinfo are tools to test you pcgi info files. Try e.g.
"pcgifile /usr/lib/cgi-bin/pcgitest" or
"pcgi-parseinfo /usr/lib/cgi-bin/pcgitest".
