There has been a bug report about unsynchronized faxes, resulting in a
shifted image. This happens when receiving mid-fax. Here is Johan's comment
on this:

BTW. quick remark about the fax synchro:
If you right (or left I don't remember) click on the window, the fax will 
automatically take that vertical line as the start of the fax (i.e. it will 
rotate horizontally).
Perhaps this is a not documented feature (solving the 1234567 67.......12345 
problem Dan talks about.
