<P>
Some people have asked about the difficult-to-interpret image that appears in
some of the illustrations in this manual. The screenshots in which it appears
are those that include more than one window and so include some of the
background image. This image is a photograph of the inside
of a smokehouse. It shows fish, held open by skewers, hanging from a drying
rack. This smokehouse belonged to the late
<a href="http://ydli.org/cultinfo/bios.htm#maryjohnsr">Mary John, Sr.</a>
and is located
in <u>S</u>aik'u<u>z</u> (Stony Creek), a Carrier village in British Columbia.
