.SH DESCRIPTION
This manual page documents briefly the
.B reseed
command.
This manual page was written for the Debian distribution
because the original program does not have a manual page.
\."Instead, it has documentation in the GNU Info format; see below.
.PP
.\" TeX users may be more comfortable with the \fB<whatever>\fP and
.\" \fI<whatever>\fP escape sequences to invode bold face and italics,
.\" respectively.
\fBreseed\fP is a perl script that retrieves a truly random seed from
the Internet (random.org) and uses it to reseed the linux random number
generator.
.PP
It is run once during the installation of the package only, as the
entropy pool is saved between reboots by the /etc/init.d/urandom script.
You must shut down cleanly after reseeding the random number generator
so as the new entropy pool is saved correctly.
