Running <TT>xrtic</TT></A>
</H1>
<P>
To run <TT>xrtic</TT> just type on your first (non root) window and from
the <TT>rtic-*.*.*/bin</TT> directory:

You will see a small console with several buttons. Click on
``Connect'' to connect to your embedded system. You will see the
run-time, status registers, update factor, run-time frequency, and
status messages appear in your xterm. At this point, you are now
fully connected to the embedded tasks and can now send commands to it.
<P>
From here, you can RUN or STOP your embedded tasks. You can also set
several of the run-time parameters via the OPTIONS button. You can
RESET the boards, and you can also QUIT out of <TT>xrtic</TT>. However,
be advised that quitting out of <TT>xrtic</TT> does not imply that your
embedded code will automatically stop running. Rather, quitting out
of <TT>xrtic</TT> will only prevent you from monitoring and commanding
your real time tasks. The real time tasks will continue running as
long as either ``rtic.o'' is in kernel memory, or the user does not
hit the ``STOP'' button, or the <IMG
