#include <semaphore.h>

int \fBsem_timedwait\fP(sem_t *\fBsem\fR, const struct timespec *\fBabs_timeout\fR);
.fi
.SH "DESCRIPTION"
.PP
The \fBsem_timedwait\fP function locks the semaphore referenced by \fBsem\fR like \fBsem_wait\fP.
If the semaphore is not locked at the time specified by the
\fBabs_timeout\fR, \fBsem_timedwait\fP returns
with the \fBETIMEDOUT\fR error.

The absolute timeout is expressed with respect to the
\fBCLOCK_REALTIME\fR clock.
.SH "RETURN VALUE"
.PP
On success, zero is returned. On error, -1 is returned, and errno is set
appropriately.
.SH "ERRORS"
.PP
All error values of \fBsem_wait\fP apply.
In addition, the following errors defined.
.IP "ETIMEDOUT" 10
The semaphore lock operation timed out.
