.SH NAME
ppol - pole placement
.SH CALLING SEQUENCE
.nf
[K]=ppol(A,B,poles)
.fi
.SH PARAMETERS
.TP 10
A,B
: real matrices of dimensions \fVnxn\fR and \fVnxm\fR.
.TP
poles
: real or complex vector of dimension \fVn\fR.
.TP
K
: real matrix (negative feedback gain)
.SH DESCRIPTION
\fVK=ppol(A,B,poles)\fR returns a mxn gain matrix \fVK\fR such that
the eigenvalues of \fVA-B*K\fR are \fVpoles\fR.
The pair \fV(A,B)\fR must be controllable. Complex number in \fVpoles\fR must appear in conjugate pairs.
.LP
An output-injection gain \fVF\fR for \fV(A,C)\fR is obtained as follows:
.LP
\fVFt=ppol(A',C',poles);  F=Ft'\fR
.LP
The algorithm is by P.H. Petkov.
.SH EXAMPLE
.nf
A=rand(3,3);B=rand(3,2);
F=ppol(A,B,[-1,-2,-3]);
spec(A-B*F)
