    <title>Descrio</title>

    <para>Para um vetor ou matriz com <literal>n</literal> x
    <literal>m</literal> entradas, o comando
    <literal>y=matrix(v,n,m)</literal> ou, de modo similar,
    <literal>y=matrix(v,[n,m])</literal> transforma o vetor (ou matriz)
    <literal>v</literal> em uma matriz <literal>nxm</literal> empilhando as
    entradas coluna a coluna de <literal>v</literal>.</para>

    <para>Se uma das dimenses m ou n  igual a -1, ela  automaticamente
    atribuda ao quociente de tamanho (v,'*') pela outra dimenso,</para>

    <para>Para uma hipermatriz tal como
    <literal>prod(size(v))==prod(sizes)</literal>, o comando
    <literal>y=matrix(v,sizes)</literal> (ou equivalentemente
    <literal>y=matrix(v,n1,n2,...nm)</literal>) transforma
    <literal>v</literal> em uma matriz ou hipermatriz empilhando "coluna a
    coluna" as entradas de <literal>v</literal> (a primeira dimenso variando
    primeiro). <literal>y=matrix(v,sizes)</literal> resulta numa matriz
    regular se os tamanhos so escalares ou um vetor de duas entradas.</para>
