Screem - Frequently asked questions
===================================

Q 1 I can't get Screem to compile, configure stops complaining it cant find
     "gnomeConf.sh".

A 1 You probably haven't installed the gnome-devel packages, install them and
     the problem should go away.

	or

If you have the devel packages installed then there is a chance your
gnome installation is broken. try reinstalling gnome and try again.

Q 2 My pages display alright in Netscape but not in Screems preview window

A 2 The preview window uses the GTK-XmHTML widget which can't handle tables
properly, it also doesn't support "exotic" things such as java, javascript
CSS etc. It also doesn't support the align attribute for images which
can be a major cause of pages not looking right in it.
Hopefully support for Mozilla instead of the GTK-XmHTML widget will
be added when the Bonobo component for it is available.

Q 3 The plugins don't appear in my toolbar/under the insert menu

A 3 Version <= 0.06 only look in the path that Gnome was installed under
     for Screems plugins

     eg: /opt/gnome/lib/screem/plugins
if you installed gnome in /opt/gnome

To sort it out either upgrade to a newer version (highly recommended) or
     just use a symbolic link.

eg: default RH6.0 install for gnome is /usr/
default screem install is in /usr/local/
	  you would need to:
		ln -s /usr/local/lib/screem /usr/lib/screem

Q 4 When I click on a plugin icon / menu entry nothing happens

A 4 (Most) plugins will only do something if you are editing a page,
either as part of a site or on its own.
Another posibility is that screem is trying to use plugins from and
old version ( < 0.7 ) If this is the case you should remove the old
plugins so screem will find the new ones.

Q 5 I just upgraded to the latest version of Screem and it crashes on start
     up while loading plugins

A 5 The plugins have been changed quite a bit between versions, and may
do so again until a Beta version is released.

Q 6 I want to pay you for such an excellent program!

A 6 OK, so this isn't really a question that I've been asked, but any
donations will be gratefully received :-)
