You can uninstall any version of seetxt since 0.60 using any
available source tarball version. There is a repository at:
http://seetxt.sf.net/src
But since you have this one, you might as well use it ;)
Untar, change directory into seetxt-0.72, then:
./configure
Since you have already done this successfully once, this should
be fine. Now:
make uninstall
This uninstall does not remove anything from user's home directory,
such as filelists, seedata files, and ~/.seeconfig.
ALTERNATIVE, AND/OR UNINSTALL A DEBIAN PACKAGE
For debian packages, you should be able to use:
dpkg -r PACKAGENAME
In this case, PACKAGENAME will be the .deb file you downloaded, minus
the ".deb". If this doesn't work, you can follow these instructions,
which will work for any version of seetxt no matter how it was
installed -- from the command line:
whereis seetxt
This will give you one or two files (the executable and maybe the manpage)
with their fullpaths. Unless someone customized the configuration, the
first part of the path will be either /usr/local or /usr:
/usr/local/bin/seetxt --> the INSTALLDIR is /usr/local
/usr/bin/seetxt --> the INSTALLDIR is /usr
Now, relative to this install directory, find this subdirectory:
[INSTALLDIR]/share/seetxt-runtime
Erase that and everything in it. Next erase:
[INSTALLDIR]/bin/seetxt
[INSTALLDIR]/bin/seeman
The last two files to erase are the man pages, which are probably:
[INSTALLDIR]/man/man1/seetxt.1
[INSTALLDIR]/man/man1/seeman.1
That's it!
