.TH SEL 1 "FEBRUARY 2001"
.UC 4
.SH NAME
sel \- Fullscreen file-selection and execution tool
.SH SYNOPSIS
.B sel
[
.I options
]
[
.I File-list
]
.SH DESCRIPTION
sel displays a listing of files like a file-manager. You can move around
using the arrow-keys and run a command given on the command-line on the
selected file with the <RETURN> - key. If you've installed the terminfo-
library delivered with ncurses, sel will use colors.
.SH OPTIONS
Short Options can be combined and strings like -aflq are allowed. An option
that requires an argument has to be the last option in the string and the
argument must follow (-aflqm "*.c"). Available command line options are the
following:
.TP
-a
Ask before executing a command
.TP
-b headline
Text-string to display as headline. This might be useful when you use sel
as file-selector in a shell-script to tell the user what to do. Use inverted
commas, for example -b "Choose filename".
.TP
-c command
Command to execute. '%' will be replaced by selected entry. You will need
to set this command into "" if it consists of more than one word, e.g.
"ls -l"
.TP
-C Filename-Substitutor (default is "%")
.TP
-d path
Start directory
.TP
-f
Use complete (absolute) filename with full path in executed commands
.TP
-h

.TP
-l

.TP
-m mask
Filemask to limit the display to a certain group of files. For example,
-m "*.c" displays only your c-sources. Don't forget the inverted commas
("") to protect the mask from the shell!
