.SH DESCRIPTION
.B maildirserial
scans a maildir,
.IR dir ,
for messages whose envelope recipient addresses begin with
.IR prefix .
It then invokes
.I client
(in the
.I dir
directory)
and feeds
.I client
a list of 0-terminated filenames.
.I client
prints a series of results.
Each result is a 0-terminated filename,
a status byte, and an LF-terminated human-readable status message.
The status byte is K if
.I client
has accepted the message,
Z if
.I client
has temporarily rejected the message,
or D if
.I client
has permanently rejected the message.
.B maildirserial
will remove messages accepted by
.IR client .
.B maildirserial
may run
.I client
repeatedly if
.I client
exits without handling all the files.
.B maildirserial
will give up if it is not making any progress.
