.SH NAME
setmixer -- set assorted mixer controls on a sound card
.SH SYNOPSIS
.B setmixer
[-V] [control value .... ]
.br
where `control' is one of the following names:
\fIvol, bass, treble, synth, pcm, speaker, line, mic, cd, mix, pcm2,
rec\fP.
.SH DESCRIPTION
The
.B setmixer
program is meant mainly for adjusting values of controls
of a soundcard mixer in a startup files and shell scripts. Names
of controls are actually taken from
.I <sys/soundcard.h>
header file with which sources were compiled.
Values of controls are integer numbers in a range from 0 to 100.
If control is for a stereo device then, optionally, a value can be
given as a `comma separated' pair with a value for a left and right
channel (for example -- 80,90). Single number for a stereo device
will set the same level on both channels.

.SH OPTIONS
.TP
.B \-V,
show resulting settings. When this option is used without giving
any \fIcontrol value\fP pairs, then current levels of mixer
devices is shown.

.SH FILES
/usr/include/sys/soundcard.h

.SH "SEE ALSO"
