Because sgcontrol is a gnome1 application, you need to start gconfd-1 by hand,
every time sgcontrol is started, so sgcontrol can save and recall it's settings
at startup. Gconfd-1 is not automatically started by the gnome desktop, it
uses gconfd-2.
