The Linux Kernel, version 2.4.0, was released Thursday, January 4th.
At this point, si is not completely compatible with Linux 2.4.  si has 
been verified to function with the kernel, although some information 
is misreported.  Due to modifications in the /proc filesystem in the 
new kernel, information relating to sound cards and parallel ports
not supported yet.
