These samples are very very *very* out of date.

Most of them will not work at all any more.  Use them only as a hint as
to what's possible.

Try 'smail -bP ALL' to see the default configuration before you
put any config files in place.

Save that output to a temp file, split it into the relavent
configuration files, and modify as necessary, then finally put it in
place and test, test, test!
