\v 3 ¶ And the \w king|strong="H4428"\w* \w spake|strong="H0559"\w* unto \w Ashpenaz|strong="H0828"\w* the \w master|strong="H7227"\w* of his \w eunuchs|strong="H5631"\w*, that he should \w bring|strong="H0935"\w* \add certain\add* of the \w children|strong="H1121"\w* of \w Israel|strong="H3478"\w*, and of the \w king’s|strong="H4410"\w* \w seed|strong="H2233"\w*, and of the \w princes|strong="H6579"\w*;

\v 8 ¶ But \w Daniel|strong="H1840"\w* \w purposed|strong="H7760"\w* in his \w heart|strong="H3820"\w* that he would not \w defile|strong="H1351"\w* himself with the \w portion|strong="H6598"\w* of the \w king’s|strong="H4428"\w* \w meat|strong="H6598"\w*, nor with the \w wine|strong="H3196"\w* which he \w drank|strong="H4960"\w*: therefore he \w requested|strong="H1245"\w* of the \w prince|strong="H8269"\w* of the \w eunuchs|strong="H5631"\w* that he might not \w defile|strong="H1351"\w* himself.  
\v 9 Now \w God|strong="H0430"\w* had \w brought|strong="H5414"\w* \w Daniel|strong="H1840"\w* into \w favour|strong="H2617"\w* and tender \w love|strong="H7356"\w* \w with|strong="H6440"\w* the \w prince|strong="H8269"\w* of the \w eunuchs|strong="H5631"\w*.

\v 19 And the \w king|strong="H4428"\w* \w communed|strong="H1696"\w* with them; and among them all was \w found|strong="H4672"\w* none like \w Daniel|strong="H1840"\w*, \w Hananiah|strong="H2608"\w*, \w Mishael|strong="H4332"\w*, and \w Azariah|strong="H5838"\w*: therefore \w stood|strong="H5975"\w* they \w before|strong="H6440"\w* the \w king|strong="H4428"\w*.
