<H3>Apply Statement</H3>

The <EM>apply statement</EM><A NAME="1"> provides</A> the means for the user to specify the
access point via which a device will interact with an instrument. It is
similar in syntax to the <EM>connection statement</EM><A NAME="2"> (section</A>
<A HREF="UserManual_71.html">*</A>) in that it makes use of the 
<CODE>--</CODE> operator as shown in the next example:

<P>If you wish to disengage the device from the specified access point you
use the device method <CODE>remove()</CODE>. So for example:
