<H3>Automatically Generating Access Points</H3>
Each of the following set of methods generates a single access point
on an instrument given <I>x</I> and <I>y</I> coordinates. The <CODE>point(...)</CODE><A NAME="1">
methods</A> only differ from the other two in that they do not lead to the
automatic generation of graphical markers in the instrument
visualisation window.
