TetraProc-0.9.2 Install instructions
--------------------------------------
To install you will need the clthreads and clxclient
libraries available from <http://kokkinizita.linuxaudio.org>.
If you don't have them yet, download, then for each
unpack, make, sudo make install, make clean. Install
clthreads first as clxclient depends on it.
You will also need libfftw3, libsndfile, and their
corresponding header files. They are pre-installed
by most Linux distros but you may have to get the
'developtment' packages for them.
Finally cd to the source dir, make, sudo make install,
make clean.
Tetraproc and Tetrafile use
---------------------------
There is currently no real manual for TetraProc and Tetrafile.
The block diagram (see .pdf) will explain most essential points.
Tetraproc consists of two parts: the A/B converter and the
metering and monitoring. Tetrafile only has the A/B conversion
part which is otherwise identical.
The elements shown in red in the PDF are those that depend on
the microphone and are modified by the configuration file.
Both Tetraproc and Tetrafile now default to the Ambix standard.
For Tetraproc, this can be changed on the command line only by
using the -B option. The current setting will be displayed
in the metering window.
For Tetrafile:
- The --sn3d, --n3d and --fuma options define the channel gains
but not channel order,
- The --acn and --wxyz options define the channel order but
not the channel gains.
- The filetype options define only the file type, not the
channel gains or order. Note it's the users responsability
to use the correct filename extension.
The defaults for Tetrafile are --acn, --sn3d, --wav, --24bit.
The legacy 'amb' format is still available by using the --fuma
and --wxyz options (and optionally --amb).
When using Tetrafile, make sure to include the high pass filter
option with a reasonable cutoff frequency. Without this some
mics are very sensitive to LF noise.
For Tetraproc and Tetrafile:
- The matrix coefficients in the config file and shown in
Tetraproc's config window must be those for SN3D output.
Also the convolution matrix when used should be computed for
SN3D output. Any gain changes for N3D or FuMa are applied
separately and are not part of the configuration.
- The channel order for the post-matrix filter coefficients
in the config file, and in the convolution matrix file must
always be WXYZ.
If you have any problems or questions don't hesitate to get in
contact.
Enjoy !
