# <overflow>
The `<overflow>` CSS type represents overflow modes.
## Syntax
The [`<overflow>`](./overflow.md) type can take any of the following values:
| Value | Description |
|----------|----------------------------------------|
| `auto` | Determine overflow mode automatically. |
| `hidden` | Don't overflow. |
| `scroll` | Allow overflowing. |
