Timer Applet is a countdown timer applet for the GNOME panel. It lets you easily set a timer, and it will notify you when the timer is finished. You can also create timer presets for frequently-used times.

  <title>Using Timer Applet</title>

    <title>Starting a Timer</title>
    <para> When the timer is not running, click on the dimmed timer to open up the "Start Timer..." dialog box. Either manually enter a time or use a preset. Then click on the "Start Timer" button to start the timer. A dialog box will pop-up when the timer is done.</para>

    <title>Pausing a Timer</title>
    <para>Click once on a running timer to pause it.</para>

    <title>Resuming a Paused Timer</title>
    <para>Click once on a paused timer. Then press the "Resume Timer" button in the dialog box that is presented.</para>

    <title>Resetting a Paused Timer</title>
    <para>Click once on a paused timer. Then press the "Start Over" button in the dialog box that is presented. In the "Start Timer..." dialog box, either provide a new timer duration or immediately click on the "Start Timer" button to restart the last-used timer.</para>

    <para>To change the settings for a particular timer, right-click on the timer. Then choose <guimenu>Preferences</guimenu> from the popup menu. The <application>Timer Applet Preferences</application> dialog is displayed.</para>
