I am a Linux geek and therefore I keep my computer on all the time to get
high uptimes. In order not to have to check and remind my highest uptimes, I
wrote this program that will do it for me.

Uptimed was inspired by Ud, a similar program. Ud has way more features,
but I didn't like how it was using pid files. Uptimed instead looks at the
boottime from /proc/stat to see whether a current uptime is actually the
same session as one in the log file.

You can always get the latest version from my website:

Many thanks go to Matthew Trent for writing the original Ud program.
Although our programs are somewhat different in approach and purpose
(HTML-output vs. console output), we still hope to merge our efforts
someday.
