<title>Prerequisites</title>

<p>For the various versions of Linux that are supported as host operating systems, see <xref
href="hostossupport.dita#hostossupport"/>. </p>
<p>You may need to install the following package on your Linux system before starting the installation. Some systems will do this for you automatically when you install <ph conkeyref="vbox-conkeyref-phrases/product-name"/>. </p>

<p>Qt 6.5.3 or later.</p>

<p>Qt is only required if you want to run the <ph conkeyref="vbox-conkeyref-phrases/product-name"/> graphical user interfaces. In particular, <userinput>VirtualBox</userinput>, the graphical VirtualBox Manager, requires Qt. If you only want to run <userinput>VBoxHeadless</userinput>, Qt is not required. </p>
