<title>Pausing a VM</title>

<p>Pausing a VM suspends all the processes running on the VM.</p>
<p>To pause a VM:<ol>
<li>
<p>Open the <uicontrol>Machines</uicontrol> tool in <ph conkeyref="vbox-conkeyref-phrases/vbox-mgr"/>, and select the running VM you want to pause.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Right-click the VM name, or open the <uicontrol>Machine</uicontrol> menu, and choose <uicontrol>Pause</uicontrol>.</p>

</ol>To start a paused VM running again:<ol>
<li>
<p>Open the <uicontrol>Machines</uicontrol> tool in <ph conkeyref="vbox-conkeyref-phrases/vbox-mgr"/>, and select the paused VM.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Right-click the VM name, or open the <uicontrol>Machine</uicontrol> menu, and choose <uicontrol>Pause</uicontrol>.</p>
<p>The VM starts running again.</p>
