<title>Linux Kernel Module Refuses to Load</title>

If the <ph conkeyref="vbox-conkeyref-phrases/product-name"/> kernel module, <userinput>vboxdrv</userinput>,
refuses to load you may see an <codeph>Error inserting vboxdrv:
Invalid argument</codeph> message. As root, check the output of
the <userinput>dmesg</userinput> command to find out why the load
failed. Most probably the kernel disagrees with the version of
<userinput>gcc</userinput> used to compile the module. Make sure
that you use the same compiler that was used to build the
kernel.
