As stated on author's page http://www.zorg.org/vsound/index.shtml
Real Player 10 / Helix Player
I've had reports that the -t/--timing option no longer works with Realplayer 10 but doesn't seem necessary. Just drop the -t and it should work. Another user has informed me that using the -d/--dspout also solved this problem.

Subject: vsound requires sound hw installed
...
The projects home page (http://www.zip.com.au/~erikd/vsound/) states:
"You may not even need a sound card and kernel sound module although this
hasn't been tested."
I have tested it, and i'm afraid it doesn't work.
What I have tested is running vsound on the same hardware with and without
sound modules loaded. With modules loaded everything works great, but without
everything seems to work great until you realize that the created files are
completely silent.
