Question:
Why are the speeds showed by wipl only half of what they should be?
Answer
It seems like the pcap library distributed with some newer (7.x) versions
of Redhat Linux gives this problem. One solutions to this problem is to
uninstall the rpm with the pcap library and instead manually download and
install it. You might want to use the with-pcap option to the wipl configure
script in this case (see ./configure --help).
End

Question:
When I start wipld I get the error "Socket type not supported".
  What is wrong?
Answer:
You did not configure CONFIG_PACKET when you compiled your kernel
  (see also next question).
End

Question:
I get some error message when I start wipld or it seems like wipld
does not see any packets. What is wrong?
Answer:
Try with the tcpdump(8) program and use the "-n" option. If that doesn't
work your problem is not related to wipl. More hints are on the
  wipld manual page.
End

Question:
I would like wiplc or wiplcSimple to show host names and not just IP or MAC
adresses. How do I do this?
Answer:
This is not supported by wipl. But you can write a cgi script similar to
redtable.cgi which does what you want. Please send your script to me
  when you are done.
End.
