To try out XBanner for the first time, you can use the XBanner demo.
Start X, and in an xterm, run:
/usr/doc/xbanner/examples/Demo/Demo.bash
Note:
Please do not modify the XBanner app-defaults file in
/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/app-defaults. This file is not a conffile, and
any modifications you make will be lost next time you install
XBanner. To customize XBanner, copy lines from the app-defaults file
to /etc/X11/Xresources. Alternatively, you can use xbanner -file to
make XBanner load up an alternate app defaults file.
Also, /etc/X11/XBanner.ad is a config file that you may modify to
change how XBanner displays on the xdm login screen.
